Passion

Intrigued with how users navigate features and find value in a product, I am passionate about acknowledging, understanding, and designing for the customer’s needs. My goal as a UX Researcher is to conduct effective and empathetic research that leads to innovative digital solutions with positive impacts for the end user.

About Me

I enjoy having conversations with people to understand what makes them tick, and I love discovering practical solutions to solve their problems. I am very curious and enthusiastic about learning. My favorite ways to learn are through collaboration with other people… you can typically find me in the kitchen with a friend experimenting on new recipes (CARBS! YUM!)  I appreciate working with intelligent, driven, and collaborative individuals to create important solutions every day.

My strengths include generating research-based ideas, asking the important “But, why?” questions, and thinking through product features and interfaces that benefit the end user.

Boston, MA has been my home since graduating from the University of Virginia and retiring from USA Swimming. After growing up in small-town Michigan, I readily accepted the “big-city” life and the Boston accent! It’s wicked cool. I love reading, being outdoors, practicing yoga, and playing with my golden retriever, Hobbes.

My Background

I am a graduate of The University of Virginia with 4+ years of experience in UX research & design. I have worked for a large international corporation, a nimble start-up, and a medium-sized business, and have learned so much from each opportunity.

I enjoyed discovering insights and making recommendations to optimize, but it wasn’t until I discovered User Experience was a career, that I felt I could pursue my passions. I engaged with anyone I could and any free group I could join, to learn more about the industry and what a career in UX Research included. I have met so many wonderful people within the UX Community and I would not be here today without them!

My background in researching & designing for the end user in a variety of company sizes, combined with my UVA education and UX experience give me a unique perspective on the needs of the key stakeholders in a variety of situations.
